The current climate within the U.S can contribute to increased levels of stress for people who identify as minorities. A minority stress perspective is often times necessary to unpack the role that stigma, rejection and internalized prejudice can have on various minority groups. Research continues to identify that there are unique mental and physical health impacts on minority individuals, however, there is also a continued lack of access to care.
If you are someone who has dealt with the stressors associated with prejudice, expectations of rejection, racism, generational trauma, homo/trans-phobia and/or immigration issues, we can work with you to further process these experiences and learn coping skills for managing the systemic issues that are present today.
It is our firm belief that everyone should be entitled to quality mental health care. In keeping with a social justice perspective, we will offer sliding scale rates for individuals without insurance and/or those who are unable to afford the full rate for services.
