Eileen Stengel, APN
I am a firm believer in a person’s individual strengths and their bravery and perseverance in not only being a survivor but a thriver in regard to life circumstances that one may experience. I am passionate about working to remove the stigma and blame game surrounding mental health.
I am equally passionate about the benefit of initiating psychotropic medications if warranted.
I believe knowledge is power, and I take great pride in educating my patients on not only what medication but why this choice. I review brain chemistry and what are the chemicals we are hopefully targeting to give someone relief and improve one’s quality of life. If an agent is not providing the relief sought, I work with a patient in exploring other agents, and if distress remains despite trying medication in addition to therapy, a genesight specimen can be obtained to explore other options that may provide a more robust response. There are always options and I pride myself in working collaboratively with my peers, patients and families to get a positive outcome.
I have experience with caring for patients from 6 years of age and older regardless of diagnosis.
